I’m often asked why I do photography when I am already so busy. If you didn’t know, I also have a full time career in the business world, but I love portrait photography so much that it doesn’t feel like work to me. There is just something about working with a client one on one that I truly enjoy. And the more I work with folks, I find that many of them have had a prior experience that was less than pleasant, which makes them dread the thought of doing it again. I take great pride in providing a fun and relaxing experience for my clients, so when you contact me about taking your photo and tell me you “hate having your picture taken”, you need to know that is a personal challenge for me to make sure that’s not the case THIS time.
This lovely lady, Amie, was in my studio recently to update her business profile photos, and she was one of those “I hate having my picture taken” people… In fact, a couple of weeks after her initial inquiry, she sent a message saying, “I’m ready to schedule my head shots. I’ve come to realize that waiting won’t make it any better…” Challenge accepted! In all seriousness, her session went very well and we got some great photos, but this truly is a concern for many people. So…if you happen to be a person who “hates” having your picture taken, please don’t put it off any longer. Find a photographer you can connect with – preferably me – and get that appointment scheduled. 😉
I’m happy to report that when Amie shared some of her photos online, she said that I “…provided a fun and relaxing photo shoot that produced several great head shot options. Notice the lack of grimace, closed eyes, and other common to me photo features.” Mission accomplished! You’re beautiful, Amie, and you do take a fabulous photo – don’t let anyone tell you something different!
